I will turn, the mech demo into a scrolling/shooter game, I did some experimetation with Bartek’s Bender Class for PV3D, and I will probably post a screencapture of something I am doing on Adobe Air (depends if it gets approved, if not I will share it)
I am also transfering from The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale to the Art Institute of Miami. NO MORE COMUTING!!!! dont have gas or time for it.
Almost forgot, we (where I work) are moving to a new very pimp office, I will post Pics as soon as we move.

I haven’t posted in a bit (because I am working on something rather cool XD a little mashup )
This blog is mostly about my learnings in flash and related technologies but this week I understood something from the bigger picture that as simple and obvious as it seems a lot of Advertiser(web) overlook or do not practice as they should, even in big Big BIG Agencies. And it is: making a website DO what it was intended to do for the client (the final goal of the project).

I was recently reading ActionScript Animation by Kieth Peters, One of the chapters I did not try out when I first got the book was the Kinematic Section. That was a mistake, I started playing around this last week, with the few hours I have left after work and school and did this small demo.
I have always enjoyed Mech games (Mechwarrior , Heavy Gear, etc.) so I took a picture of a Mech from EA’s Battlefield 2142 (below).

I Had to do a little photoshop so all the pieces would look complete when animated and then just started looking at youtube videos of in game footage and playing with the three section leg until I got something close to the actual walking cycle of the Mech. I also made the machine gun shoot with a bit of recoil just for fun. You can ride the thing here.
I would love to do this using Papervision but the 3d models I found did not work for me. I might try modeling a simple version myself, but by 3Ds Max skill are not the best.
For my next 2D version I might try another aproach, using inverse kinematics. Or even better if someone wants to help out with a low poly version of this mech let me know (me@iamgoose.com)
